SXM AIRPORT--Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) welcomed the first landing of an Air France Airbus A350-900, marking a milestone in the airport's aviation history and adding another wide-body aircraft type to its list of international arrivals.

The aircraft's arrival provided a spectacle for aviation enthusiasts and visitors gathered at Maho Beach, where the Airbus A350-900 made its approach over the shoreline before touching down at PJIA.

The Airbus A350-900 is a modern long-haul aircraft designed for greater fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and improved passenger comfort. Its arrival highlights St. Maarten's continued importance as an international aviation gateway and its ability to accommodate wide-body aircraft serving long-distance routes.

The landing also provided another opportunity to showcase Maho Beach, one of the world's most recognized aircraft-spotting locations, where visitors gather to witness large passenger jets descending just above the shoreline.

The historic arrival represents another moment for PJIA as the airport continues strengthening its role in connecting St. Maarten and the surrounding Caribbean region with international destinations.
