GREAT BAY--SXM Festival is preparing to celebrate its 10th edition with five days of electronic music across St. Maarten and Saint-Martin from March 17 to 21, 2027, announcing an initial lineup of 31 international artists led by Bob Sinclar, MEDUZA, Sasha, Claptone, Dombresky and Guy Gerber. The anniversary edition will once again transform beaches, clubs, villas and other locations across both sides of the island into entertainment venues, bringing international performers and music enthusiasts together for one of the Caribbean's established destination music festivals.

The Phase One lineup also features Franky Rizardo, Brunello, Patrick Topping, Dennis Cruz, Chelina Manuhutu, Deer Jade, Matt Sassari, Max Styler, Elvis Guetta, Jackie Hollander, Indo Warehouse, Nico de Andrea and several other international acts. Organizers have indicated that additional performers, parties and special anniversary experiences will be announced in the months leading up to the event.

The festival, which made its debut in 2016, has developed an international following by combining electronic music with the island's natural scenery, hospitality and nightlife. Unlike events confined to a single festival ground, SXM Festival takes place at multiple locations, encouraging visitors to explore different communities and experiences across the island during their stay.

Beyond its entertainment value, SXM Festival represents an opportunity for St. Maarten's tourism and hospitality sectors, particularly businesses involved in accommodations, transportation, restaurants, boating and entertainment.

According to information released by organizers, the event has attracted approximately 5,000 to 6,000 attendees from more than 58 countries in previous editions. Its activities involve local crews, production teams, suppliers, venues and service providers, creating commercial opportunities for businesses on both the Dutch and French sides.

The festival's timing in March also places it within the island's tourism season, providing another reason for international visitors to travel to St. Maarten. In addition to attending performances, festivalgoers contribute to the wider tourism economy through hotel stays, dining, car rentals, excursions and other activities.

Organizers have emphasized that the island itself remains an essential part of the festival's identity, with the combination of music, natural surroundings and community interaction distinguishing the experience from conventional electronic music events.

SXM Festival founder Julian Prince said the original vision was never to create the largest event of its kind, but rather to deliver experiences that visitors would remember long after leaving the island.

"From the beginning, I never wanted SXM to be the biggest festival," Prince said, explaining that the emphasis has always been on creating lasting memories.

The event's history has also been shaped by significant challenges, including Hurricane Irma in 2017 and the disruption of international travel and live entertainment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite those setbacks, SXM Festival has continued to develop its international profile, attracting established electronic music performers while maintaining relationships with local businesses and service providers.

Previous editions have featured artists including Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, BLOND, Bonobo and Richie Hawtin. The 2027 anniversary lineup continues that international focus, combining established names with emerging performers across house, techno and other electronic music genres.

Prince has maintained that preserving the festival's original atmosphere remains central to its future, even as the event enters its second decade.

The initial lineup represents the first stage of the anniversary program, with organizers expected to release further details concerning artists, individual parties, performance venues and other activities.

Specific performance schedules and stage assignments have not yet been announced.

Five-day festival passes and additional event information are available through the official SXM Festival website.

The March 2027 celebration will mark another milestone for an event that has become part of St. Maarten's international entertainment calendar, bringing together music, tourism and the island's distinctive character for its 10th edition.
