GREAT BAY--St. Maarten Carnival 2026 will shine a special spotlight on one of the island’s most celebrated cultural icons when King Beau Beau and Friends takes the stage at Carnival Village on Friday, April 17, 2026, as part of the festival’s 55th anniversary celebration. "This will be the King at his best, a fitting musical event for a legendary King."

The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF)  have promoted the event as a tribute to Leroy “King Beau Beau” Brooks, whose contribution to St. Maarten’s Carnival and calypso legacy has made him one of the most recognized names in the island’s cultural history. The title for the night is "From then to Now"

The event forms part of a wider program that the foundation says is designed to showcase the depth of St. Maarten’s Carnival culture during the milestone 55th edition.

The event is a celebration of one of St. Maarten Carnival’s true icons, with King Beau Beau performing in full concert with friends at Carnival Village. The show will feature special guest appearances by King Genius, King Jacko, and Kaiso Brat, bringing together notable names associated with the island’s calypso and Carnival traditions.

The concert is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at Carnival Village. Entrance is US $20.

The tribute also carries broader cultural meaning. King Beau Beau has long been regarded as one of the defining voices in St. Maarten’s calypso tradition, and past reporting has noted his prominence as a leading local artist and cultural figure. By placing him at the center of a dedicated Carnival 2026 production, the SCDF is not only honoring his legacy, but also reinforcing the role of veteran cultural figures in shaping and sustaining the island’s festival identity.

With Carnival 2026 positioned as an expanded anniversary edition, the King Beau Beau show is expected to stand out as one of the season’s major local culture events, offering Carnival lovers an evening centered on music, memory, and tribute to a performer whose name remains deeply tied to the story of St. Maarten Carnival.
