GREAT BAY--Member of Parliament Sjamira Roseburg has followed through on her promise to the Junior Carnival Queen and her two runner-ups by fully covering their school fees for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The commitment was first announced during the Junior Carnival Queen Pageant in April 2025, where Roseburg, attending as the sole government official, made a surprise pledge to sponsor the education costs of all three contestants. Her gesture, made in collaboration with her law firm Consider It Solved, was met with enthusiastic applause from the sold-out crowd.

Roseburg was inspired to act after hearing the full list of prizes and noticing the absence of any support related to education. Wanting to offer something of lasting value, she stepped in to ensure that each contestant would enter the new school year with one less burden. Her contribution not only honored the young queens’ achievements but also brought tangible relief to their families.

The families and the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) extends their heartful appreciation to the MP for her thoughtful, kind and generous gesture.
