Dear People of St. Maarten,
I extend my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the voting population of our beloved island for the confidence you placed in me throughout my political career. Your trust, support, and belief in my leadership have been among the greatest honors of my life. Serving you has shaped me, strengthened me, and inspired me in ways I will forever cherish.
As I reflect on my journey, in education as well as my businesses and social philanthropy, I am profoundly grateful to the individuals especially the late Dr Claude Wathey who was my political mentor and whose guidance, wisdom, and companionship left an indelible mark on my professional path. I wish to express special thanks to:
- The late Joel Brison (my right hand comrade)
- Dr. Orlando Wilson
- Former Prime Minister Hon. Wycliffe Smith
- Mr. Anthony Brown
- Mr. Denicio Bryson
- The late Eldridge Van Putten
- Mr. Cesil Lake
and especially Mr. Brian Meade whose dedication, wisdom and guidance assisted me in achieving my ultimate career and educational goal, my Doctorate in Political Leadership.
Each of you contributed uniquely to my growth, offering counsel, encouragement, and steadfast support. Additionally, serving as a teacher at the Milton Peters College was an honor and a privilege. Your presence in my life has been a blessing, and I remain forever grateful for the role you played in shaping my career.
Above all, I must honor the first and most influential person on my journey, my late mother, Ms. Olive Irene Marlin-Carty. I am the first of six sons that she raised single handedly in the neighborhood of Middle Region. Although she didn’t have it easy, she planted the seed of education in me, nurturing a belief in the power of learning that ultimately led to my earning a Doctorate in Political Leadership. Her love, sacrifice, and unwavering encouragement formed the foundation of everything I have achieved. She will always stand first on my list of gratitude.
To the people of St. Maarten and to all who walked beside me, thank you. Your faith and support have been the driving force behind my service and accomplishments. I remain humbled and eternally appreciative.
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Julian Rollocks Sr.
