4C Foundation seeks new Co-Director as organization enters new chapter

GREAT BAY--Foresee Foundation (4C) is inviting applications for a new Co-Director as the organization prepares for an important leadership transition and the retirement of one of its founders, Jose Verschueren-Sommers.

Having grown over the years into an organization supporting community development, non-profit capacity building, education and culture, 4C is looking for a new leader who can honour what has been built while bringing fresh energy, ideas and relationships to the Foundation’s next chapter.

The new Co-Director will work alongside the existing Co-Director, the 4C team, Board and partners to help guide the Foundation’s strategic direction and long-term sustainability. The role combines strategic leadership with the practical, hands-on work that comes with leading a small community-focused organization.

Responsibilities will include identifying and developing new projects and funding opportunities; strengthening grant applications, budgets, reports and evaluations; maintaining relationships with community organizations, funders, government and private-sector partners; overseeing projects and accountability requirements; and supporting programmes in areas such as capacity building, education, culture and community development.

The Co-Director will also contribute to the continued development of initiatives such as NPOwer and the 4C Impact Hub, while helping strengthen the Foundation’s internal systems, teamwork and organizational continuity.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to help shape the future of an organization while remaining closely connected to the people, organizations and communities we serve,” the Board stated.

4C is encouraging applications from individuals with experience in areas such as the non-profit sector, project or programme management, organizational development, education, culture, public service or social entrepreneurship. The Foundation emphasizes, however, that it is not looking for one particular career path.

Important for the future co-director to have is integrity, responsibility, strong relationship-building skills and the ability to think strategically while also getting the work done. Candidates should have experience developing or managing projects and an understanding of areas such as fundraising, grants, donor reporting, project accountability and budgets. Strong English communication skills are required, while Dutch is considered an asset.

The position is currently envisioned for approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. As 4C operates largely through project funding, compensation will be connected to approved management and coordination budgets, grants and other available income, with potential for the position to grow alongside the Foundation’s projects and funding.
