Brooks & Associates becomes first corporate sponsor of Rotary Sunset breakfast program

GREAT BAY--Brooks & Associates has become the first corporate sponsor of the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset’s school breakfast program, marking a new milestone for an initiative that has supported students at Marie Genevieve de Weever School for the past seven years.

The breakfast program provides meals to students identified by the school’s Care Team as needing additional support, helping them begin the school day nourished and better prepared to focus on learning. The program is structured to provide that assistance while protecting the privacy and dignity of participating students.

The new partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the Brooks & Associates office. Rotary Sunset President Jade Maccow, Marie Genevieve de Weever School Manager Larisa Theodore and Brooks & Associates Senior Attorney Brenda Brooks were present for the signing.

Brooks & Associates has committed to supporting the program during the 2026-2027 school year and beyond, providing a corporate partner for an initiative that Rotary Sunset has maintained in cooperation with the school for seven years.

For Brooks, the partnership also has a personal meaning. She recalled receiving breakfast at school during her own childhood and said those experiences remained with her.

“I remember looking forward to receiving my sandwich and milk at school, and every so often we would get the Pink Nesquik. Those simple moments of care stayed with me, and today it is meaningful to help create those moments for another generation. Investing in our young people is investing in the future of our community,” Brooks said.

The law firm has identified education, sports and youth development among the areas it supports through community initiatives.

Theodore welcomed the continued assistance, stressing that proper nutrition can have a direct impact on a child’s ability to participate effectively in the classroom.

“A well-nourished child is a child ready to learn. This generous donation helps ensure that our students at MGDW can start their school day focused, energized, and ready to succeed!” Theodore said.

Maccow described the arrival of the program’s first corporate sponsor as an important step in strengthening the initiative.

“For seven years, we have worked to ensure that hunger does not become a barrier to a child’s education. Having Brooks & Associates join us as our first corporate sponsor gives new strength to that mission. Every breakfast served is an investment in a child’s ability to learn, grow, and reach their full potential,” she said.

Rotary Sunset said the partnership demonstrates the role businesses, schools and service organizations can play when working together to address the needs of children. The club thanked Brooks and the Brooks & Associates team for becoming the program’s first corporate sponsor, while also recognizing Marie Genevieve de Weever School, its Care Team and Theodore for their continued cooperation.
