GREAT BAY--The Performance Sports Academy (PSA) Athletics Association will launch its second annual High School Basketball League on September 1, bringing together all 10 high schools on the Dutch side of St. Maarten for seven weeks of competition, school pride and youth development.

The league will run through October 17, 2026, with each school playing five games during the regular season. The playoffs are scheduled for October 14 and 15, followed by the final knockout rounds and championship games on October 17.

Each participating school has submitted its official roster, including players and coaches, as teams prepare to represent their schools throughout the tournament.

The league returns following a successful inaugural season in which Milton Peters College captured the championship title. With a mix of returning players, returning teams and new talent entering the competition, PSA said anticipation is building around which school will claim the 2026 championship.

In addition to the action on the court, PSA will provide regular statistics and updates throughout the season. Following each game, player and team statistics will be shared with the respective school representatives and coaches.

League standings, results and highlights will also be published on PSA’s social media platforms, including Instagram at performance_sports_academy_sxm and Facebook at Performance Sports Academy-PSA.

Games will also be recorded and uploaded to PSA’s YouTube channel the following day, giving students, families, supporters and basketball fans another opportunity to follow the competition.

PSA is encouraging the public to support teams throughout the entire regular season rather than waiting until the playoffs and championship rounds.

“Whether you are a current student, former student or supporter, come out and proudly represent your school,” the association stated.

Through the annual league, PSA aims to continue strengthening basketball in St. Maarten while keeping high school students active, engaged and connected through sport.

The organization said the competition is also intended to create opportunities for young athletes to develop teamwork, positive relationships and camaraderie while representing their respective schools in a structured competitive environment.

PSA is inviting students, alumni, parents and basketball supporters across St. Maarten to attend the games, show their school pride and support the island’s young athletes throughout the season.

The second annual PSA High School Basketball League runs from September 1 through October 17, 2026.
