GREAT BAY--Go LOCAL XL returns later this week for its seventh edition, with Xtratight Entertainment recognizing the organizations whose continued partnership has helped establish the event as one of St. Maarten’s leading showcases for local enterprise.
The four-day event will be held from Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, July 26, on the Philipsburg Boardwalk. Activities will run from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each evening.
Go LOCAL XL began as an initiative encouraging residents to support local businesses. It has since developed into a major community event that connects entrepreneurs with consumers while highlighting the range, resilience and creativity of St. Maarten’s business sector.
This year’s edition is supported by GEBE N.V., Port St. Maarten, Windward Islands Bank, Telem, the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kadaster St. Maarten, Aleeze, Genesis Music Group and Quality Sweepers.
Xtratight said the contributions of these organizations reflect a wider commitment to community development and economic growth. Their support goes beyond event sponsorship by helping to strengthen local commerce, expand opportunities for entrepreneurs and encourage cooperation between the public and private sectors.
“Go LOCAL XL has always been rooted in collaboration,” said Bertaux Fleming, Managing Director of Xtratight Entertainment. “The continued support of our partners demonstrates a collective commitment to building a stronger local economy. Their investment extends beyond this event. They are helping create opportunities for entrepreneurs, supporting innovation and reinforcing the importance of doing business locally.”
More than 50 local businesses are expected to take part in this year’s event. Participating businesses will represent retail, professional services, food and beverage, health and wellness, fashion, technology and the creative sector.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a family-friendly experience, including food offerings from Domino’s Pizza, interactive gaming by Video Cove SXM and a dedicated arcade for children.
Entertainment throughout the four evenings will be hosted by Rummer and Nolrez, with a lineup featuring local music, culture and performing arts.
Opening night on Thursday will include performances by Sweet Pan, DJ Chubs and Shawn Wilkinson.
Friday’s program will pay tribute to the late Claude with an evening focused on culture, music, dance and storytelling. The night will feature performances by Cecil on Sax, DJ Kidd and Yemaya, and will conclude with a fireworks display.
Saturday’s entertainment will feature DJ Kidd, Jeremy and MagicX.
The event will close on Sunday with performances by Sweet Pan, DJ Ez Ric and Chewawah.
As final preparations continue, Xtratight expressed appreciation to the sponsors, partners, vendors and volunteers who have contributed to the seventh edition of Go LOCAL XL.
“The success of Go LOCAL XL is a reflection of what can be achieved when businesses and institutions invest in their community,” Fleming said. “We are grateful to every organization that has chosen to stand with us in supporting local entrepreneurs and creating opportunities for businesses to grow. Their partnership continues to shape the future of this event and the communities it serves.”
